Constecnia started during the last week of August the final assembly of the first of the buildings of the APROP program of the Barcelona City Council.
As the Barcelona City Council explained in the presentation of this project, “it is a new model of fast pioneering construction housing in our country in response to the urgent need for housing in the city. A new way of building homes, guaranteeing standards of habitability and quality. ”
“Inspired by projects developed throughout Europe, the APROP are blocks built with marine containers that are fully adapted to the regulations and completely functional that will be manufactured on an operations base and then transferred to Ciutat Vella, where they will be installed. In addition they will have the possibility of being able to disassemble and move where you need. ”
“A concept that could be assimilated to some utopian and futuristic theories of Plug-in-City buildings that adapt to the needs of the city and the users.”
All of this is part of a pioneering and avant-garde project that creates a precedent and we are proud of being a participant. A new challenge that unites coordination, teamwork, research and development of innovative solutions to realize a new way of building.
This first building of the APROP is located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona and after the previous interior construction and pre-installation of the water, drainage, heating and electricity services, its four floors have been assembled in less than four days. The final phase of construction will be the installation of the cover of the facades, as well as the installation of the footbridges and the access elevator.
